Yohmi | Male | Age 17
A young, freelance digger who lives alone with his dog on a small island called Trinban. Situated far to the west of Saul Kada, the island is covered with the crumbling remains of an old village, as well as numerous lightning rods.
Trinban Island is not only Yohmi's home but also his research base. His hope is to effectively harness the power of lightning to free civilization from the grasp of quantum refractors. However, for the time being all of his large equipment is powered by the refractors, and so he has had to become a seasoned digger in order to keep his reasearch going. |

Miiki | Female | Age 15
An orphan girl who ran away at age 13 and has been drifting from one place to another for the past 2 years. She is surprisingly knowledgeable on a wide variety of subjects for her age.
Miiki recently took a job with a group of people working to improve the commucations systems and reaverbot detection equipment used by diggers and their spotters. Because of her age and social status she has been treated like a runt and has grown bitter towards most of the group. |

Valyra | Female | Age 19
A young lady with a grand sense of adventure and an equally strong mean streak. On her 12th birthday, her hometown was attacked by a large and impressive invading force of air pirates. The awe which the experience struck into her heart left her with a strange but strong desire to be a part of such a powerful force.
Near the end of the attack, she sneaked on board one of the pirates' vessels and returned with them to their base. Upon begging to join them, the leader of the pirate group took Valyra under her wing and taught her the ways of a professional air pirate. |

Mett | Male | Age ???
A mysterious man, rumored to be living deep within ruins, and amongst reaverbots. Some speculate that he may have been a reaverbot researcher who lost his mind from spending too long in the deep underworld, studying the mechanical menaces.
Though many claim to have caught glimpses of him, whether he truly exists or is just a myth is a favorite topic of debate among retired diggers who have nothing better to do than sit around and discuss the adventures of their youth and the perils they faced in the search for the Mother Lode. |
