Halcyon Days :: Yohmi's Story
Yohmi considers ditching his armor and making an attempt to swim the short distance to the ruins, but if successful he knows very well that he is not likely to survive long against reaverbots without some protection. He keeps a strong grip on his sinking ship, waiting and hoping for another chance.
After a very nerve wracking minute
his chance comes. The waves carry his boat right up against the side of the ruins. It's now or never, he decides, and makes a great leap as the two collide. He is able to grab onto the top of the broken edge of the ruins and the impact of the collisions shakes him violently, causing him to fall over the edge and into the ruins themselves.
He falls only 8 feet or so, but it is a painful experience nonetheless. Lightning flashes are frequent enough for Yohmi to survey the remaining structure pretty well. It seems that aside from the piled debris he is on a more or less level floor, what would have been many levels down from the top of the ruins before they blew. There looks to be an opening large enough to crawl into. Yohmi is grateful to escape the storm's rage. Even with all the violence around him he falls asleep in a matter of minutes...
