Adventure Unfolding...

Ignoring the weather momentarily, Yohmi heads over to the lightning rod for a closer look at the problem. He finds that the rod is leaning enough that the topmost of the four connecting pipes has pulled loose, thus breaking the connection to the equipment beside it. The break could cause serious problems, but the rain has begun to seriously downpour and the thunder grows louder and louder. As he wonders what to do, he suddenly discovers the cause of the problem. A large rain puddle has formed at the base of the rod where the ground seems to have sunken in. Yohmi reaches down into the puddle to check its depth. "Dang it, it's at least two feet down," he curses, "probably an old underground basement creating a sinkhole that's going to bring my lightning rod down." He turns his attention back to the busted pipe as the storm begins to seriously rage. Lightning flashes become more and more frequent and his feet begin to sink into the mud. With the ground softened so much around the lightning rod, he puts his back to it and pushes with all his might. His attempt to straighten it seems to be working, but suddenly a lightning bolt strikes one of the nearby rods. The sound of it slashing through the air and the immediate thunder of such a close strike brings his hands to his ears. His feet lose their grip in the mud and he falls down on his side with a dirty splat. "That's getting way too close!" he tells himself, but the rod is almost back in a vertical enough position for the pipe to reattach. Just a little more pushing would do the trick... What Happens Next? Take the risk and force the lightning rod back into place, greatly increasing chances for successful data collection... or Run for it before another close lightning bolt hits the island...
