Halcyon Days :: Yohmi's Story
Yohmi figures anyone in the Communications room would have been smart enough to make an escape before the air ship sinks, so he puts his energy toward moving the fallen beam out of the way. It is difficult to get a good foothold with the slanted floor but finally he wedges himself between the door and the beam in a position that gives him stability as he pushes.
The beam is tightly in place. He wishes so much for his buster gun, but naturally expecting no reaverbots he had not even thought to bring it along.
Finally a great heave combines with the jerking motion of a wave crashing against the air ship and the beam moves aside enough to open the door and squeeze in.
"Hello?!" he calls out down into the dark, tilted room, "Is anyone in here?!" The room is large, but in its darkness he can hear water sloshing around. It would seem that it has flooded considerably. As his eyes adjust to the darkness, Yohmi can make out the shapes of a couple of doors, both submerged. If anyone was in here, they definitely did not make it out alive.
Suddenly another large jolt sends Yohmi falling into the room head first. He splashes into the water and behind him hears a sound which fills him with dread. Carefully he pulls himself up the nearly vertical floor and up to the door. As he feared, the beam has fallen back into place, sealing him in this room...
